Self portrait. Hornton stone. 2009

Over the span of twenty years I have worked with a variety of stones. I am interested in how I can make the material live and assume forms such as water and flight as in 'birdwave'. It’s a tussle between what the stone itself offers and what I want it to express. It assumes the role of actor, acting out many parts. Despite the unobvious shapes and structures it has to appear convincing; like a good actor not drawing attention to the acting.

I hope you enjoy some of my work and even come to see it at my home.
